What You'll Be Doing

No two days are the same for a Defenced Hacker. One day you’re penetration testing a complex web environment, the next you're assessing vulnerabilities in traffic control systems at a busy intersection. To wrap up the week, you grab your hack kit and see if you can talk your way into a company as part of a social engineering assignment—only to then dive into testing their internal network.

Sounds like a tall tale? Not at all. This is everyday work for a Defenced Hacker.

Your Skill Set

  • A completed Bachelor’s or Master’s degree

  • Proven experience in Ethical Hacking (5+ years)

  • Strong conceptual understanding of security solutions (e.g. firewalls, proxies, IDS/IPS)

  • Extensive hands-on experience with Kali Linux or custom-built distributions with curated toolsets

  • Advanced knowledge of web technologies (e.g. JavaScript, .NET, PHP)

  • Proficiency in at least one scripting language such as Bash, Python, or PowerShell

  • Relevant certifications such as GPEN, OSCP, OSWE, or OSEP

  • A flexible, self-starting mindset

  • Strong communication skills in both Dutch and English, written and spoken
